Clearly and Lorraine
Lorenzo had a girl named Lorraine
She was very pretty with a good brain
But one day he met a lovely new chick
whose name was Clearly and she was slick!!
He liked Clearly a lot but he loved Lorraine
Clearly returned affection and he felt love wane
For he was loyal and wouldn't give her hope
He knew dear Lorraine would be unable to cope.
As the days passed, they became infatuated
He would break with Lorraine and Clearly he dated
He planned several times to tell Lorraine
But he just couldn't bring himself to give her pain.
One day they were walking along the riverbank
Lorraine slipped in and it was no prank
The current carried her down and she drowned.
In the deep dark waters, ugly and brown
Lorenzo stopped by the river
gasped in shocked surprise
he was screaming and shouting
huge tears filled his eyes
but then he ran off smiling
and singing in a low tone
"I can see Clearly now,
. . . Lorraine is gone. "
